Today I stood in for Taylor Kinney for a confidential project.
Today I stood in for Taylor Kinney for a confidential project.
This evening at the 2013 Unscripted New York Improvised Theatre & Film Festival at Theatre 54 in Midtown Manhattan, I was awarded the Emerging Artist Award for my act as the Reverend Raymond Nader, as whose persona I perform completely improvised sermons off of audience suggestion.
This morning I entered the ING NYC Marathon 2013 via guaranteed entry. The NYC Marathon this year will take place on Sunday, November 3rd. It will be my sixth running of the race.
Today I ran the Boston Marathon in 3:37:59.
For a recap of my experience, read my entry in my running blog O’er the Hills.
This afternoon I shot some new headshots with photographer Deborah Lopez.
I have some new demo reels!
With the guidance of my manager Jenn Lederer, I’ve cut some new reels to showcase my fast-talking, comedic, energetic self. There is a short version (which serves as my main reel), and there is an extended two-minute version. See them both below.
Today I released the first videos of my new series supplementing the chapters of my book Long-Form Improv. The series is titled “Reading Long-Form Improv“ and it’s viewable on my YouTube channel.
Each video is dedicated to a chapter in my book, and each fleshes out the topics in the chapter for even better understanding.
I’ll be releasing videos periodically, so subscribe to my YouTube channel to be emailed updated!
The 2012 iNeed Awards were announced today, and my little web series with Mandy May Cheetham titled The Infinite Need swept the contest with 17 victories!
I won for Best Male Comedy Performance, Best Male Improvised Performance, and opposite Mandy May Cheetham, Best Comedy Duo. (I won 10 awards if you count my producer and creative role in the web series.) […]
In the Fall 2012 issue of Otterbein Towers, my book received a mention in the Otterbein Book Corner section on page 27, where four other authors connected to Otterbein are also listed.
It reads:
Ben Hauck ’98 recently published LongForm Improv: The Complete Guide to Creating Characters, Sustaining Scenes and Performing Extraordinary Harolds. He also produced and co-starred in the comedic improvised web series, The Infinite Need. The series is about casting workshops in Los Angeles and New York City.

Tonight I performed an improvised sermon as the Reverend Raymond Nader to introduce the rock band Ten Ton Mojo for their album release show at Arlene’s Grocery in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.
It’s been a fickle 2012 in terms of my website. Just when I think I find a design I like, I release it then I hate it.
I’ve been giving more thought into what I needed in a site, and I think I found a design that’s suited for it. What you’re probably seeing now is what I’m going with.
So stay tuned. I started this today, and it’s to be seen just how long it will take for me to get it online. In the meantime, if you need to get in touch with me, try me at (212) 252-4706 and […]
The über-talented Lucy-Jade Norris hosts On Deck with Lucy, an interview series that features talent, trends, and tastes of New York City. She interviewed me for Episode 3, and here’s the video which just came out.
In the video we cover my book Long-Form Improv, my all-improvised web series The Infinite Need, and the improvised sermons I do as the Reverend Raymond Nader. Have a watch!
