This photo shoot for The Onion satirical news story “Denver Optometrist Not Sure Why He Has Gay Cult Following” happened suddenly one late afternoon in front of the theater entrance curtains at the old Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre on West 22nd Street in Manhattan.
