Ben’s television credits include Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Good Morning America, Monsters Inside Me, Momsters: When Moms Go Bad, Nurse Jackie, 30 Rock, State of Affairs, White Collar, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law & Order: Trial by Jury.
He has performed as an improviser both in the United States and in England with improv teams and as the solo act The Reverend Raymond Nader, a Pentecostal evangelist who performs comic, completely improvised sermons.
As a host, Ben has worked for clients such as Yahoo!, Diet Dr. Pepper, and Grovo, in addition to his duties as rehearsal stand-in for John Oliver on the HBO series Last Week Tonight. Ben is also creator and host of The Acting Income Podcast on Apple Podcasts.
Ben is the author of the book Long-Form Improv: The Complete Guide to Creating Characters, Sustaining Scenes, and Performing Extraordinary Harolds, published by Allworth Press in 2012. He also founded and contributes to two entertainment industry websites, Stand-In Central and Fi-Core Central, for which he has written two ebooks.
For four years, from 2016-2019, Ben was honored by the Television Academy for his contributions to the program Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, which won Emmy Awards in those years for Outstanding Variety Talk Series.
Ben’s solo improvised sermon act won the Emerging Artist Award at the 2013 Unscripted New York Improvised Theatre & Film Festival.
Ben earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting from Otterbein.
