I've just entered the lottery for the ING NYC Marathon 2008.
Failure to get in via the lottery last year kept me from doing the 2007 marathon. It was for the best, though, as I ended up with a stress fracture in the inferior ramus of my pubic bone, presumably from overtraining.
This year my training has been a little bit erratic given my weekly travel, but I've kept it up, running a couple of 14.1-milers. I will be in London, UK, for the summer, and I hope to continue running perhaps with the aid of a running club (so that I can learn about running routes in the serpentine landscape of Greater London).
Of concern for me is recent discomfort at or near the site of my stress fracture, plus an anterior capsule impingement (presumably) that I occasionally, semi-chronically experience in my left ankle.
Also of concern is a desire to achieve more ambitious running plateaus. I want to become an 8-mile-a-day runner as opposed to the 6.3-mile-a-day runner I am right now. I've even had dreams of being a runner with higher mileage than that. I realize I need to be careful given my injuries, but also given that I will be in a foreign country. I will have health insurance, though I still don't want any surgical surprises!
All in all, I hope to best my best NYC Marathon time (3:28:03 net in 2005) and to qualify for the Boston Marathon (3:10 for my age group) with a 3:09. I don't know if I have it in me to do a marathon in 3:09, but that's part of the adventure. Running provides big whallops of satisfaction and accomplishment. I hope to have tears of joy at the end of a huge adventure.

I'm in London, England. "FOB" yesterday.
Today, I met up with Running Matters, a running club based in Canary Wharf, which is where I'll be staying. Quite fun! I met some locals who turned out were fairly new to town, like me. We went on a slow jog around the Isle of Dogs (I think?). I didn't pay too much attention to the scenery, but it was nice, though cloudy.
Oh, and you must realize that while I speak with an American accent, my voice inside my head as I type emails is a British woman. Very weird.
