★ News from March 2007:
This evening I inaugurated my marathon training year with 2 laps around the lower loop of Central Park, for a grand total of about 2.5 miles. The weather was 34 degrees, windy, and I felt overall pretty great!

Today I did my first full loop around Central Park. 6.3 miles to be exact. I had started out the run with the thought that I'd just do about 5.2 miles (the loop sans Great Hill), but I went ahead for the whole shebang. I didn't go very fast, but I did get some sprints in. I can tell I have a ways to go runningwise to build up my strength, but that I'm already doing this amount of running, I feel good.
Physically, I notice that I have a wee bit of what I'm going to call patellar tendonitis in my left knee, though it rarely affects my running. I mostly notice it when I get up or jump, esp. in my morning workouts. I think I've had it for a long time (since my surgery on the other knee), though I don't really know. I hiope it gets better rather than worse.
Oh, and I ran in the cold, just after a winter storm had struck. That was just a nice little addition. I was dressed just a layer too warmly for it; when I left I had thought it was 30 degrees, but I think it warmed to just below 40 degrees by the time I was done. Partway through the run, I unzipped my top and pulled out just one arm--I must have looked crazy running in CP like that.
Eventually, I'll start up my marathon blog rather than post about assorted running milestones here. Also eventually, I hope to revamp my website. I have a lot on my plate, but it's on my mental things-to-do list. :)

Today I had a photo shoot with photographer Brent Murray. We took straight shot and shots of me as Reverend Raymond Nader. What was really cool about the shoot is that we did it on film! I have missed film.
