★ News from August 2005:
This morning I had an interview for a regular student on The Bedford Diaries, a television show produced by Warner Brothers on whose pilot (entitled "I'm Gonna Love College") I worked in March. The interview was at Hellgate Studios in Astoria. I got to shake hands with the director, Adam Bernstein, a hero of mine for directing early They Might Be Giants videos!

Today I decided that I was going to conduct three free outdoor improv classes for the next consecutive Thursdays in Central Park. As you may know, I'm writing a book on long-form improvisation, and I want to get my ideas on scenic improvisation out there for lots of people. I find the principles I coach--influenced primarily by drama theory, game theory, and general semantics--practical and extremely effective for creating rich improvised scenes. Plus, I find they take away the fear many people have about improvising.
The improv group I direct, Devil's Dancebelt, is headlining a show at Carolines On Broadway on Monday, August 15th. At the show I plan on making these outdoor improv classes known to the public. If you're reading this entry before Monday's show, you're getting a sneak-peak into the seminars. The flyer for the seminars is located here:

Be sure to put in your reservation for Devil's Dancebelt's Monday night show! You can find information about the show, plus audio clips and Devil's Dancebelt merchandise, at our website:

Cheers!

This afternoon I worked on The Bedford Diaries, a new television show for The WB, at Hellgate Studios in Astoria. The episode is titled "The Truth about Sex." I'm in the bar scene, flirting it up with Zöe (played by the delightful Victoria Cartagena, who was quite fun to talk to). The director of the episode was Adam Bernstein.

The problem with such posting is that it could get outdated at any minute: I'm doing pretty well in my marathon training so far this year. :)
Glance over my marathon training blog. I've been logging about 40 miles of running a week, something I didn't even do in my first two marathons. Saturdays are my long-run days. Yesterday I ran 15.8 miles, last Saturday, 18.5, next Saturday I'm scheduled to bust out 20. Ugh!
