Hi! I’m Ben Hauck.

I’m an actor.

I’m also a voiceover artist.

I wrote a book on improv, too.

Current Projects

March 2024 – Marching on in March!

I begin March with production of the audiobook for Anton Dabbs’s memoir, From Turmoil to Triumph, subtitled, “How a mechanic rose above poverty and chronic anxiety to build a national enterprise, and found peace with himself and his past in the process.” I’m eager to dig into his book and bring it to life in audio form!

This audiobook will be my second of the year, after producing the audiobook for Kevin Cripe’s Princess Max Conquers the World, a meaningful children’s story about a fantastic boy who wears a dress. The author also produced a flipbook for it, using my narration!

From January into February, I played a role on the Netflix TV series Zero Day with Robert DeNiro, et al.  Around the time that job ended, my work on Season 11 of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver started. There, I work as the stand-in for host John Oliver. I’ve been on that job for about a decade — wowsers! The first episode of the season got standing ovations, so I’m really excited to see how this season unfolds.

My voiceover business is expanding! Working in the direction of political voiceovers (a realm into which I dabbled before), I’m doing political ads as a nonpartisan voice. In fact, my wife and I are doing more political voiceovers as the year barrels onward toward the November general election. So, listen for our voices now, or soon! For now, you can reach me at Voiceoverpro.co to voice your campaign, but hopefully by month’s end my political voiceovers site will be active. So far this year, I have seen an assortment of new clients as well as orders from recurring clients. Last year (2023) was a record year for me for voiceovers, and I’m eager to overtake that goal in 2024. Let’s see!

Part of last year’s achievement was because of all the audiobooks I produced. In addition to From Turmoil to Triumph, I am in the middle of production of the audiobook for My Invisible Father: Turn on the Light to See the Unseen by Jaer Armstead-Jones, which I started in December through Pro Audio Voices. That process should wrap in March 2024. Here are the audiobooks I completed in 2023:

As for fitness, I’m maintaining my fitness built this year despite very early wakeups for work. Nearly every day of work on Zero Day, I got in about 20 minutes of workouts (heavy weights and/or jumprope), often around 4am if not earlier. I ran up stairs a lot at the job, walked fast, and somehow seemed to log 10K steps even on days when my work had me mostly seated for hours. My strength remains high and I’m enjoying jumprope, getting better at a move called a “mic release” and getting stronger with heavier weighted jumpropes. I hope to keep up my fitness over this month, though it will be a challenge with another audiobook to produce. Here’s to trying!
