“Performance Mix” // Improvised Sermon as The Reverend Raymond Nader // Joyce SoHo

This evening I performed a comic improvised sermon as The Reverend Raymond Nader on the audience suggestion of “Incest” as the final performance in the festival Performance Mix at Joyce SoHo, a festival of curated acts produced by the New Dance Alliance in association with the Joyce SoHo.

Video should be available soon on my YouTube account, http://www.youtube.com/benhauck.

Update4/4/2012: The video is on YouTube, as well as in my Video Portfolio.  Click here to immediately see the video in my portfolio.

Welcome to the Brand New Ben Hauck online!

Over the past few months, I’ve been considering a total redesign of my website, Ben Hauck online.  Here it is!

Since my focus is now exclusively on my acting career, I wanted to centralize my acting career on my website.  I wanted to make it so that you could quickly and easily find out about my acting career and see some of my work.  My other endeavors, like writing and general semantics, I’ve de-emphasized from this new version of the website.  They are still here (or are in the process of being added), just less obvious.  The only exception is the emphasis of my forthcoming book, which I’ve linked to in the menu.  (Coming in September 2012!)

Some features that I think are really cool that you’ll see are the Photos and Videos galleries.  They are sortable and animated and really quite snazzy.  I still have a little bit of polishing to do inside each individual project mentioned, so please bear with me.  Hopefully they “wow” you as they “wowed” me!

You’ll also notice the homepage.  It has an incredible frontpage slideshow.  Coming soon will be featured videos at the bottom of the homepage.  Not to mention that, I’ll also be adding more and more video content, as I put more emphasis on video creations.

I still update my news blog regularly, so make sure you subscribe to it via RSS or else check back.  In the meantime, if you need to get ahold of me, try me via my Contact page.

Thanks for checking out the new Ben  Hauck online!

Cheers,

Ben Hauck

“Outsider at Occupy Wall Street” // Documentary // Videography

Today Aimée Davison posted on YouTube a documentary she did at the Occupy Wall Street protest in Lower Manhattan on October 30, 2011. I did the videography for the outing. Aimée was in town from Montreal for a presentation and we spent Sunday afternoon shooting in Zuccotti Park. We met some interesting people, captured some fascinating moments, and got a great inside look at the movement and movements of people.

Review of “Confessions of a Long-Form Improv Teacher” by Ben Hauck

Today Aimée Davison posted on YouTube a review of my manuscript titled Confessions of a Long-Form Improv Teacher. Aimée worked as a beta-reader for the manuscript as part of her ongoing project called One Hundred Jobs, and she posted this video review in completion of the job.

Feedback from beta-readers of my manuscript has been very positive. I will soon be seeking publishers for the manuscript. If you’re a publisher with interest in commercial publication of this book, particularly with an interest in publishing theater arts books, please get in touch with me to talk.

Shocking Video of Ben Behind the Scenes on Nurse Jackie!

Peter Facinelli put together a video diary of his time backstage on Season 3 of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie. I was his stand-in. He caught me back in holding on his last day on set, during quite a dance session.

Here is the video diary entry. You’ll see the clip of me starting around 2:47. After watching, check out Season 3 of Nurse Jackie Monday nights on Showtime. You’ll see more of me as I play doctor!
