On Stage: The Reverend Raymond Nader // Comic Improvised Sermon // Appearing at “Performance Mix at Joyce SoHo” // March 18, 2012 @ 7pm

On Sunday, March 18, 2012, at 7pm, I will be performing as The Reverend Raymond Nader a completely improvised sermon based on an audience suggestion.

The performance will be part of Performance Mix at Joyce SoHo, a festival of curated acts produced by the New Dance Alliance in association with the Joyce SoHo. The Reverend’s sermon will be the final act of the week-long festival, and it will be followed by a closing night party with tapas, wine, and dancing. (What a way to end the week!)

All performances and events will be held at Joyce SoHo (155 Mercer Street between Houston and Prince St. in Manhattan). For the 7pm shows, General Admission is $15, and admission for Artists, Students and Seniors is $10. You can also purchase a Festival Week Pass for $24. (8pm shows are free and first come, first served.)

Tickets will be available after December 15 at Joyce.org.

“Play Date” Wins at The Players Theatre Short Play & Musical Festival

From June 23rd, to Sunday, June 26th, I played the role of Robert in the new Brenda Bell short play titled Play Date. Performances were at The Players Theatre as part of their Short Play & Musical Festival. The theme was “New York.”

We learned today that the play I was in was the winner for the third week of the festival. It was exciting to learn the show was so well received!

Comic Improvised Sermon as The Reverend Raymond Nader // 2/26/2010 @ BAX!

My friend Victoria Libertore invited me to perform my comic improvised sermon act as The Reverend Raymond Nader for the fundraiser for her new one-woman show Girl Meat debuting this spring. Here are the details and I hope you can make it out–the sermons are completely improvised based off of audience suggestion and they are a rip-roarin’ good time!

Girl Meat Fun(d)raiser!

Join Victoria Libertore and friends in this celebration of her ten years devoted to making performance in NYC. It’s a party and performance with Cynthia Hopkins, Maddy Mann & Lexie Miller, Comedian Robin Cloud, The Reverend Raymond Nader as well as burlesque beauties making their debut: Kstar, Jazabel, Maya Lusion, Poisoned Ivy and Reverend Harness! DJ Cray Cuban aka/Alberto Denis will take us from the performances into partying and dancing. Light food and beverages for you! All funds go towards her new show Girl Meat.

Silent auction and raffle items include: headshot/portrait session, audition/feedback with a theatre, TV and film agent, theatre and dance tickets, one-on-one yoga session, one-on-one drumming session, reiki session, Body Talk session, trapeze lesson, high-end hair cut, framed photography, intuitive reading. If you can’t make it and want to donate, go here: BAX/Victoria Libertore

ABOUT GIRL MEAT
According to legend, Countess Elizabeth Bathory is the most prolific female serial killer in history. Drinking and bathing in the blood of her victims, she tortured and killed hundreds of women. Intrigued by this true story, solo performer Victoria Libertore channels Bathory’s essence with intensity, a dose of camp and a hint of insanity. All the while exploring why as a society we find naked, twisted-up, bloodied bodies of women so damn fascinating. Direction by Rosalie Purvis. Dramaturgy by Jen-Scott Mobley. Set design by Jono Lukas. Costume design by Jeff Sturdivant.

Friday, February 26th, 7pm. Performance at 8:00.
